Hi! I'm Stu.

Who am I?

ArmorBorn when dinosaurs roamed the earth, or at least it seems like that. Wandered around in education and work as I tried to find something that I enjoyed doing that would allow me to eat and pay rent at the same time. Art was enjoyable, but didn’t generate enough cash. Biochemistry was also fun, but seemed to take a PhD to attain a reasonable income. Found mechanical engineering and pursued that for a bit. It was enjoyable and paid well. Yet I was mystified by how businesses worked.

Ultimately, I pursued additional education, became a CPA and worked at Deloitte for several years. That was followed by a career in manufacturing with various firms like Alcoa and others which allowed me to utilize my combined accounting and engineering backgrounds to come up with ways to increase profitability for companies.

This led to me following a calling to become self-employed and with my reputation, many companies and organizations brought me on to their projects to increase their profits and cashflow. Followed my own path without God for quite a while, into my 30’s. Finally found God (or he found me), and He changed me forever.

He is still changing me. Per His instruction, I have learned to Sit, Wait, Listen, and Follow. I have been a “self-funded missionary” ever since, going wherever He sends me. God gave me the gift of math and problem solving so I used those in Accounting and Engineering. He has allowed me to combine those gifts in a way that makes organizations better. That has been the “excuse” He has used to get me in front of many folks all over the world, and most of them were in businesses or at conferences and meetings, not expecting to encounter a servant of God. I have served in several mission fields around the world, and have learned to go where He sends me, I say what He says to say, and I leave when He tells me to. Because He has told me to be a part of Convene, here I am, looking to see what He has in mind for us all.

I believe He will make that evident in time. If you have any questions about my background or experiences, please ask.
